TCC

Hey Raiders today our men were playing at TCC in starting their last series of games of the season before hopefully moving on to the NWACC.

The team started out stung today scoring two run in the first half of the game. Starting pitcher Ryan Schmitten, did a great job keeping TCC off the bases.
TCC made a come back though bring the game to a tied 2-2.

The score stayed 2-2 until the 11th inning when Michael Sherwin hit the ball deep into the outeild allowing our men to score two runs. The scoring streak didn't stop there, Michael Sherwin managed to score one more run putting pierce ahead by three.

Josh Potter managed to make quick work of keeping TCC from scoring allowing the Raiders to take the win.
The energy on the team was high today, and the Raiders side of the stands was packed. Hopefully pierce can keep this going into tomorrows game at home against TCC.

Come out to support the team as they work to make it into the NWACC!!

Green River may 6 2012

Hey Riaders, sorry for the deplay in posting this!

Sunday May 6, on this wam and sunny sunday, our Raider men went up against Green River Community college. The Raiders started out strong by scoring 1 run early in the game. However this was quickly matched by Green river.

The Raider men got a little sloppy and started droping the ball a lot more than they should have, this allowed Green River to pull ahead.

In the nineth inning the Raiders were able to step their game up and score a few runs to time the game at 6-6. When d'Aundray Van Slyke steped up to bat, there were 2 outs. He then hit the ball scoring the winning run and keep pierce from going into extra innings.

Sorry for the late posting Raiders!

Lower Columbia April 29

The April 29 game against Lower Columbia was a three hour game, full of dispute against calls made by the umpires.

Although the Raider men started out ahead, soon bad calls put the men behind two runs. Several goods plays were made by the Raiders, as well as some interesting decisions by the coaches.

In the top of the 8th Jake Phillips was switched out for the first baseman Josh Potter. Potter proceeded to walk the batter.
While Phillips was still pitching he brought a controversial play to the umpires attention the caused the other team to lose a run. This caused an uproar from the other teams fans, who were very vocal to start with.
In the top of the ninth Coach Mike was ejected from the game, because of a call made. After a roughly 15 minute argument the coach was ejected.

Strictly from a spectators point of view this game had the most colorful language of any game attended this year. From both players and coaches.

Pierce lost the first game by 2 runs.

The Raider men however did take the win in the second game with a final score of 8-2. This game was not quite as interesting as the first game, but had slightly better language.

The Raiders broke there undefeated streak but good things are still to come in this season for them.

Pioneer News

Hey Raiders, the newspaper has cut down to a 12 page publication, this being the case, some changes have been made to the sports pages, because timeless sports news is hard to find, half of the 2-page sport section will now be health and nutrition, but will have some leeway if more sports news comes up that needs to be added to the paper.

The reason I'm posting this here, is because I'm always looking for ideas for stories or even writers to help fill the pages. If anyone has any ideas they think would be a good addition to the paper, please do not hesitate to email or comment this account or my work email,

Raiders vs Centralia win

On this sunny and warm Sunday, the Raider men add another two wins to their record, this past weekend at Mt. Tahoma. April 15, the men played a double header against Centralia Community College.

The men started strong with Elliot Morris throwing out the first few pitches, of this warm Sunday game. The first inning went by fast as Morris only allowed one person to be walked to first base. The coach then brought in Jake Phillips. Phillips only allowed one point to be scored by Centralia, leaving the final score of the game 13-1.

The Raider men gave Centralia quite the beating almost making the amount of runs scored comical, as triple after triple was scored, the bases were almost always loaded making each inning last quite sometime, at least the half that the Raiders were hitting during.

Game two didn't last quite as long, only 6 innings, the Raider men ended the game by getting 10 points ahead of the other team.

The pitcher Miles Nagel made quick work of striking players out, and the men in the field make sure not to let the ball slip by when it made it out to the outfield.

The men hitting made sure to score fast, making the second game fly by.

The Raider men are still undefeated in their league games.

Raider Men Win Again

The sun finally showed for the Raider men's most recent win.

Today the Raider men had a double header against Grey's Harbor today. They managed to get the win in both games the first score, 10-2, and the second 3-0.

TJ Phillips did an amazing job announcing the game today.

The men fought hard today and it showed. They cleaned up there act from a few past home games that look a little sloppy.

The same solid staff was on the field today to back up pitcher from the first game, Ryan Schmitten and from the second game TJ Horsfall.

Des Santos and Josh Potter as always were quick to make amazing plays and keep the opposing team off the bases.

Great plays were made by the Raider team to keep the game moving. Despite what seemed as an attempt to bring the game to a stand still by the Grey's Harbor pitcher, who in no way would allow a base to be stolen, the Raiders managed to steal a few anyway.

The game was kept livly by the music during rotations. As well as the dancing by a few players before the game started.

So far the Raiders are undefeated in leauge games( the games that apply to quaifying for play offs) and we're looking for the Raiders to countiune this streak.

Clark Game April 1st

Sorry Raiders, I dropped the ball on this one due to a miscommunication with the scheduling of the games. And the heavy rain.

The Raider men did however have a great first game winning 19-4 against Clark.

I may he'd back to game two if weather permits, but with new classes starting tomorrow I do not want to risk getting sick. Have a great day Raiders!
